Authorities are trying to find the man who robbed a bank inside a Walmart in East Knoxville on Friday.

The robber hit the FSNB brand in the Walmart at 3051 Kinzel Way about 2:49 p.m., said FBI spokesman Darrell DeBusk.

“A suspect entered the bank and approached the tellers, handed them a note, and demanded money. The tellers complied with the demands. The suspect fled the bank in a dark green Honda Accord,” DeBusk said.

The suspect was described by authorities as a black male with a medium to large build. He may be in his 40’s to 50’s and was 5’10” to 6’2” tall. He was wearing a long-sleeve camouflage shirt, a gray ballcap with a “W” on the front, sunglasses, dark-colored pants, white/gray gardening gloves, black boots, and a royal blue face covering, according to a press release from the FBI.

He was also in possession of a yellow bag, which he kept underneath his arm during the robbery, the release said.

The FBI and Knoxville Police Department are investigating the robbery.
