Knoxville Company Acquires Spirits Producer, Expands Capabilities

Knoxville spirits company acquires Charleston Coastal Pure Beverages News
Knoxville-based Silver Screen Bottling Co. announced the acquisition of Charleston, S.C. spirits producer Coastal Pure Beverages. The deal allows Silver Screen to oversee production in-house, from developing drink recipes to bottling and distribution.

Founded in 2019, Silver Screen partners with entertainers and brands to create licensed spirits and beers. Their products include bourbons for NFL legend Terry Bradshaw and country singer Alan Jackson, as well as spirits tied to TV shows like The Walking Dead and Ray Donovan. The company said acquiring Coastal Pure will “further empower” their custom spirits work.

Coastal Pure, operating as Green River Spirits Co. and Terressentia since 2007, is known for crafting award-winning spirits and flavored beverages. Their North Charleston facility includes multiple bottling lines producing up to 950,000 cases per year. Coastal Pure helps develop new drinks, design branding and packaging, obtain permits, source materials, bottle, and distribute.

The acquisition gives Silver Screen an established production center with decades of experience. Coastal Pure’s finishing method creates custom flavor profiles for any beverage. Their 72,000-square-foot plant and five bottling lines can handle bottles from half-liter to 1.75-liter sizes.

Silver Screen President Alan Jackson called the deal “a huge step forward.” Coastal Pure CEO Bernard Jaconetti said the acquisition will help both companies “reach the next level of success.” Silver Screen began in Texas but now operates from Knoxville. The company said buying Coastal Pure will spur creativity, new products, and evolution from a licensing firm into a major spirits producer.

The global spirits market continues to grow, especially for premium and craft brands tailored to specific audiences. By acquiring full in-house production capabilities, Silver Screen can develop and distribute specialized products more nimbly while maintaining quality control. The deal signifies an ambitious new chapter focused on product innovation for the entertainment-centric bottler.
