Four Charged With Murder, Neglect of Elderly Knoxville Woman Info

Knoxville, TN (WATE) – Four individuals have been charged in connection with the death of an elderly Knoxville woman. Crystal Shinpaugh Dalton, 50, Ira Earl Shinpaugh Jr, 60, Teresa Shinpaugh, 61, and Randy Lee Shinpaugh, 58, were the caregivers of Brenda Sue Crutchfield, who died on May 13, 2020.

On Monday, warrants were issued charging all four with first-degree murder, aggravated neglect, and evidence tampering. Dalton was also charged with financial exploitation valued at $60,000 or more. According to court documents, the alleged financial exploitation began in July 2017.

The four individuals have been arrested. Bond amounts have been set at $275,000 for Ira Earl Shinpaugh, Teresa Shinpaugh and Randy Lee Shinpaugh. Dalton’s bond was set at $300,000.
An arraignment date has not yet been announced.
