The company outgrew its downtown Knoxville startup space and spent over a year renovating an empty historic building in North Knoxville. The new 60,000-square-foot headquarters provides room for hundreds of new employees Axle Logistics plans to hire.
“For the last 15 months we did take this deserted building and transform it into something completely different,” said Ali Fraley, Axle Logistics’ director of strategic development. “Our owners were really passionate about creating a space that not only reflected our organizational culture that work hard play hard mentality but to give that balance to our employees who work so hard.”
Axle Logistics began as a small startup just a few years ago but has since become one of the fastest-growing companies in East Tennessee. The company provides logistics services for transporting goods via air, rail, road and sea.
Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon applauded Axle Logistics for breathing new life into an historic North Knoxville building. “I appreciate Axle Logistics’ investment in our community and commitment to Knoxville. This redevelopment project is a great example of how we can honor our history while advancing towards the future,” she said.
Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee also praised the company’s commitment to job growth and economic development in the state. “Tennessee’s business-friendly environment and skilled workforce continue to attract companies like Axle Logistics,” he said. “I appreciate this company’s significant investment in Knoxville and commitment to creating hundreds of new jobs.”
The new Axle Logistics headquarters is located at 4730 Axle Logistics Blvd., formerly known as Bernard Avenue.
